The Wood Anemone is a common flower found from March each year in deciduous woodlands and along hedgerows.  It can grow up to 30 cm in height, but is often much smaller.

This early woodland flower is also known by an old English name as the "Windflower", and can be found in either white or pink.  Occasionally it can be found in very large numbers where along with Snowdrops it can compete to cover the woodland floor during the early part of spring.
