Dogs for the Disabled

is a great charity

I am really lucky and on Sunday 13 April 2014, I will be running the Virgin London Marathon for a charity that I am really passionate about.

Dogs for the Disabled trains assistance dogs and form partnerships of people with disabilities and children with autism.  The dogs perform tasks that allow disabled people to live independent lives, increase confidence, and reduce isolation.

I am a member of the Leicestershire Dogs for the Disabled Supporters Group, we raise much needed funds, and awareness of the charity.  I am also a registered speaker for the charity.

In 2012 I was privileged to accompany my friend Lizzie and her assistance dog Frodo to watch the Paralympics.

It was amazing to see how Frodo helps Lizzie with everyday tasks so she leads an independent life.
